Financial Privacy

Bitcoin can be used to transfer value accross the table or accross the world. You do not need have permission to setup an account, nor to make the transfer. With enough skill and knowledge this can be done privately. It is still working now and has been going strong for 13 years. There are layer 2 tools built upon Bitcoin like Lightning which allow you to just scan a QR code to send a receive money, anywhere, anytime, instantly and for almost zero fees. The Lightning network, built on top of the Bitcoin layer therefore allows near instant payments, reasonable privacy and minimum fees.

Since all transactions on the Bitcoin mainchain are visible to anyone at anytime privacy is not available by default and it is often a bad choice for those trying to break the law. This is is not, I believe, the design intent of Bitcoin, it is simply to allow people to transact freely and to have access to a financial tool that gives them financial freedom. Hopefully it will provide a healthy alternative to the traditional system that can help this legacy system move forward. I also hope it will help individuals that choose to use it for good and that may not have access to the old system.
