Open Source Mapping as Opposed to Google Maps

TASK: Instead of Google Maps try using an open source alternative. These include OpenStreetMap.org in particular. Two excellent phone apps to use with OpenStreetMap are:

1. MapsWithMe
2. Osmand

WHY: Two main reasons:

1. You can download maps before you go and therefore still navigate without Wi-Fi/GSM signal.
2. OpenStreetMap does not track your location.
3. Google and other closed source mapping apps will try to spy on you in every way they can in order to sell and profit from this data. Try to avoid this happening, your location data is important.
